A professor searching for the core of all matter (the atom) and an engineer are kidnapped by pirates and a wealthy aristocrat who plans to use the professor's discovery to rule the skies with bombs in Karel Zemen's fantastic adaptation of Jules Verne's novel "Facing the Flag" titled INVENTION FOR DESTRUCTION (released in the Untied States as THE FABULOUS WORLD OF JULES VERNE).
