Stanely Donen made one last stab at big Hollywood filmmaking with this lush send-up of classic double bills with two films headlined by George C. Scott. In the black and white DYNAMIE HANDS, Scott plays a trainer who coaches a young boxer (Harry Hamlin) but is powerless to keep him from being swept away by the promises of an unscrupulous manager and a femme fatale. In the color BAXTER'S BEAUTIES OF 1933, Scott is a Broadway producer who learns he will die soon and plans to make his last show a major success for the welfare of a daughter he has not seen since she was a baby. Art Carney, Trish Van Devere, Barry Bostwick, and Kathleen Beller also star.
