I have reviewed Raro Video/eOne's Region 0 NTSC DVD of Michelangelo Antonioni's
I VINTI (THE VANQUISHED)
over at DVDBeaver (
review link below) where it has been compared with the older Region 0 PAL Italian Minerva Classics DVD edition. Antonioni tells three stories set in Rome, Paris, and London of murders committed by affluent youth. Franco Interlenghi (I VITELLONI), Anna-Maria Ferrero (THE BATTLE OF AUSTERLITZ), Eduardo Ciannelli (FOREIGN CORREPSONDENT), David Farrar (BLACK NARCISSUS), Patrick Barr (HOUSE OF WHIPCORD), Fay Compton (THE HAUNTING), and Etchika Choureau (A GIRL FROM PARIS) star. Visconti collaborator Suso Cecchi d'Amico co-scripts, Antonioni regular Giovanni Fusco scores, and L'AVVENTURA cinematographer Aldo Scavarda is the camera operator for this earlier effort.
