The son of a servant raised by his Master Swordsman mentor, Fang Kang hides his abilities from the wealthy students who disdain him, including the master's smitten daughter. When he bests one of them yet loses his arm in a show of bad sportsmanship, Fang thinks he is useless until a fisherwoman nurses him back to health and gives him a book of left-handed sword-fighting techniques, which is convenient since his master's mortal enemy has perfected a weapon capable of disabling right-handed swordsmen with a plan to massacre him and his students in a final confrontation.
