Having been rejected for yet another role and regarded as too old to continue pursuing an acting career he never had, Phillip Stalworth must go back to his Southern backwoods hometown when he learns that his mother has lung cancer. As he tries to help her explore non-traditional treatments, he confronts old issues with his distant father and his bitter sister as well as a surprise attraction to a high school rival. John Heard, Marriette Hartley, and Allison Elliott also star.
