In BET and CBC's epic six part miniseries adaptation of the Lawrence Hill novel THE BOOK OF NEGROES, young Aminata is stolen from Africa and enslaved in South Carolina. As she escapes to New York and is caught up in the Revolutionary War, her intellect, compassion, and desire to return home influence the lives of others determined not to become slaves again on an exodus to Nova Scotia and then to Sierra Leone as they endeavor to live free. Louis Gossett Jr., Cuba Gooding Jr., and Jane Alexander guest star.
