Severin Films sheds light on FRANCO NOIR (review)

Before he became known as the master of erotic horror, Jess Franco dabbled in the mainstream in various genres including Film Noir.  In DEATH WHISTLES THE BLUES, a criminal mastermind retired into a respectable false identity is haunted by a dead man.  In RIFIFI IN THE CITY, a guilt-ridden police inspector wants to avenge the murder of a young police informant at the hands of a gangster masquerading as a politician in a South American nation.
