Abused by his foster parents at a traveling circus, Max escapes the caravan in "vampire country" and meets the friendly residents of Castle Frankenstein in Juraj Jakubisko's feature-length version of his seven-part television miniseries based on the popular children's novel "Frankenstein's Aunt".
