88 Films spills GAIRA'S GUTS TRILOGY (review)

A protege of anti-establishment exploitation filmmaker Koji Wakamatsu, Kazuo "Gaira" Komizu learned to craft sexy, violent "pink" films on a low budget and pushed the envelope with his "Guts" trilogy merging sex, violence, horror, and gore.  In GUTS OF A VIRGIN, a group doing an erotic photo shoot in the mountains gets lost in the fog and shelters in a cabin where they are stalked by a murderous (and horny) monster.  In GUTS OF A BEAUTY, a female doctor tries to avenge a girl who committed suicide by taking on the mob only to have the tables turned on her.  A dose of the gang's designer drug Angel Rain, however, has strange effects on her body chemistry and turns her into a vengeful monster.  In RUSTED BODY, a countess and her servants abduct and torture victims in search of missing money.
