The romantic relationship between Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero that started in CAMELOT takes a dark turn in the Italian countryside as artist Leonardo (Nero) wants to get away from the city and the controlling influence of his agent/lover (Redgrave). Finding a dilapidated Italian villa, he soon discovers that it is haunted by the beguiling spirit of a promiscuous countess whose memory begins to obsess and then possess him. Directed by Elio Petri.
