Gene Hackman is a mild-mannered salesman who snaps and is demoted to night manager at a pharmacy with quirky staff and dangerous customers. When he learns that his son (Dennis Quaid) is seeing an older woman (Barbra Streisand), he tries to put a stop to it, but her involvement in his life is even more chaotic. Diane Ladd and Kevin Dobson also star.
