Before STARGATE and INDEPENDENCE DAY, German filmmaker Roland Emmerich comes this eighties era bid at Spielbergian wonder and fright. After his father dies, Joey is bullied when he tells people he still talks to him on his toy phone. Joey soon discovers that he has the ability to make objects move, animating his robot as well as a creepy ventriloquist's dummy that warns him that it is not his father he is talking to but something evil and powerful. Also known as JOEY.
