Cult Epics appreciates SEX MURDER ART: THE FILMS OF JORG BUTTGEREIT (review)

Cult Epics combines the major features and shorts of outrageous German cult director Jorg Buttgereit together in one four Blu-ray/two CD set.  In NEKROMANTIK, a forensic janitor brings home the ideal partner for a threesome with his girlfriend, only this one's dead and rotting.  In DER TODESKING, Buttgereit presents an essay on suicide with seven vignettes taking place over the course of a week.  In NEKROMANTIK 2, a female necrophiliac is torn between a tender relationship with a living man and the caresses of a dead mate.  In SCHRAMM, taxi driver turned serial killer Lother's mind comes unraveled in a series of surrealistic and nightmarish hallucinations and real bloodbaths.  Also included are several short films, commentaries on all four films, making-of featurettes (including the underground outrage CORPSE FUCKING ART), and the full soundtracks on CD along with the full scores and additional cues as Blu-ray extras.
