Al, a young man of a modest background is set to marry the boss' daughter and take a financial interest in his future father-in-law's car dealership. When he hits an immigrant with his car after a night of celebration and is convinced to flee the scene by his accomplices, Al is wracked with guilt and follows up on the victim's treatment. Student Juliette, who has witnessed the crime and recognizes Al, tries to convince him to turn himself in or help the man's family even as she becomes a trusted friend to the man's wife who cannot press charges or obtain aid for her husband's treatment because of their illegal status. Soon, all three find that right-and-wrong is not always so clear cut and they must all make complex decisions and face the consequences. Also includes the riveting short THE PIANO TUNER about the titular character who pretends to be blind to make larger tips and spy on the lives of his clients only to witness a horrible crime.
