Lance Henriksen, Jeffrey Combs, and Oliver Reed star in Stuart Gordon's THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM.  Spain's Grand Inquisitor falls in lust with a baker's wife and accuses her of witchcraft.  As her husband tries to infiltrate the castle dungeons to rescue her, the maiden endures tortures while plotting her escape with a white witch.  Frances Bay, Jonathan Fuller, Rona Di Ricci, Stephen Lee, and Tom Towles also star.

Those thirty-year-old sorority pledges Brinke Stevens and Michelle Bauer are initiated into scream queen fame (along with Linnea Quigley) as SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-O-RAMA.  Two pledges and three dopey fratboys break into a bowling alley to steal a souvenir for an initiation and instead unleash a trapped imp who promises to grant each of them one wish (of course, you know what happens when people make wishes in horror movies...)

Scorpion Releasing haunts THE SURVIVOR (DVDBeaver comparison)

Robert Powell, Jenny Agutter, and Joseph Cotten star in the big-budget Australian horror film THE SURVIVOR (based on the novel by James Herbert) directed by actor David Hemmings (DEEP RED).  A large airliner crashes in a small village and three hundred passengers are killed.  The only survivor is the pilot and he does not remember a thing.  A psychic contacts him and tells him that the dead want him to discover how the plane crash happened, and people connected to the crash start dying mysteriously as the dead take their revenge.

Raro Video and Tomas Milian chase the YOUNG, VIOLENT, DANGEROUS (DVDBeaver review)

Tomas Milian is a police commissioner on the trail of a trio of killer youths and a comely hostage in Romolo Guerrieri's YOUNG, VIOLENT, DANGEROUS (Liberi, Armati, Pericolosi) scripted by Fernando Di Leo (CALIBER 9).  When a routine gas station robbery goes wrong, three youths create a bloodbath that results in three dead cops and a dead service station owner; but that's only the very bloody beginning... Stefano Patrizi (MURDER OBSESSION), Eleonora Giorgi (INFERNO), Max Delys (ANDY WARHOL'S L'AMOUR), Benjamin Lev (EYE IN THE LABYRINTH), Venantino Venantini (BLACK EMANUELLE AND THE WHITE SLAVE TRADE), and Tom Felleghy (CAT O'NINE TAILS) also star.

Arrow Films visits THE SHRINE (Review)
