Artificial Eye gives us ATTENBERG (review)

From the makers of DOGTOOTH comes another bit of Greek psychosexual weirdness.  Marina lives with her dying father.  Her only knowledge of sexuality comes from nature documentaries narrated by David Attenborough and the fleshy demonstrations of her predatory friend Bella.  Yorgos Lanthimos, Oscar-nominated director of DOGTOOTH co-stars.

Isis has CANO DORADO ("The Golden Gun") (review)

In this Argentinian action drama, Panceta is a pipe cutter who has learned from his late father how to fashion make-shift guns with scrap material, which he sells to small-time kingpin Tacom.  When he falls for Tacom's girl and takes her on an idyllic fishing trip, all hell breaks loose back at home and he may have to put one of his guns to good use in retaliation.

DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE is Shameless' THE CEMETERY MAN (review)

Long before he hooked up with that vampire Madonna, Rupert Everett (THE COMFORT OF STRANGERS) was rekilling the living dead as Francesco Dellamorte, the Cemetery Man in Michele Soavi's fourth film DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE.  The residents of the Buffalora cemetery don't stay dead for long and someone has to clean up the mess once they've taken bullets and shoves to the brain.  Anna Falchi, Barbara Cupisti, and Francois Hadji Lazaro co-star.

ArrowDrome in the PENITENTIARY (review)

CHEERLEADERS' WILD WEEKEND's Leon Isaac Kennedy is in the wrong place at the wrong time and winds up in the PENITENTIARY in Jamaa Fanaka's grindhouse classic.  Set up for a murder he didn't commit, the only way for "Too Sweet" Gordone Martel to get out of prison is to fight his way out in the boxing ring.  When his mortal enemy "Half Dead" Johnson (Ernie Hudson, GHOSTBUSTERS) gets out of prison and targets his family, "Too Sweet" must get back into the ring with the training of Mr. T himself in PENITENTIARY II.  Pick up these two in a double feature disc from Arrow Video's ArrowDrome budget line with commentary on the first film by director Jamaa Fanaka.

    Right out of Weird War Tales: ZONE TROOPERS (review)

    Before Tim Thomerson made cult movie fame in TRANCERS, Thomerson, writer/director Danny Bilson, producer Paul DiMeo, and executive producer Charles Band of Empire Pictures made ZONE TROOPERS.  American soldiers stationed in the middle of nowhere in Italy barely survive a Nazi attack and get lost in the woods where they discover a crashed spaceship.  An alien on the loose may be the least of their problems when the Nazis are hunting them and alien technology to use to win the war!  Timothy Van Patten (CLASS OF 1984), Art LaFleur (THE WRONG GUYS), and Biff Manard (TRANCERS) also star.

    Scorpion Releasing presents DEVIL'S MEN/TERROR (review)
