Eureka tells a tale of ONCE UPON A TIME CHINA TRILOGY (review)

Tsui Hark's epic series on Chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung gets a 4K restoration for Eureka's ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA TRILOGY.  Jet Li plays the traditional doctor and martial artist whose code of honor is tested by foreign powers, violent isolationalist sects, corrupt officials, and true love in the series first three films and the Sammo Hung-directed sixth entry (Li having sat out the fourth and fifth entries).  Rosalind Kwan also stars.

    Film Movement summers in LA BOYITA (review)

    Jorgelina wants nothing to do with becoming a woman if it means acting like her boy-crazy older sister Lulu.  After a fight with her sister, she decides to spend the holidays with her father in the country rather than with her mother and sister at the seaside.  On the farm, she reconnects with friend Mario but he is finding that his own passage into manhood is considerably more complicated than a show of bravado as a horse racer in this coming of age film from the producers of Pedro Almadovar's TALK TO HER.
